Passionately interested in research and transforming research results into strategic insights, Sofie found her way to the position of Strategic Planner at Think BBDO, where she works for companies like Elia and ExxonMobil. Sofie helps these clients assess opportunities and trends (inside and outside the organisation) and convert them into a sound proactive communication strategy vis-à-vis all stakeholders.
Her position as planner enables her to keep her finger on the pulse of the latest digital marketing techniques and trends, as well as relevant quantitative research methods and analyses. Her ambition is to use both in order to increase the effectiveness and precision of marketing and communication strategies.
Before Sofie joined the BBDO team, she worked for three years at the Vlerick Business School, where she gathered experience in brand research and was able to translate her passion for figures into the field of digital marketing and branding. Alongside academic research, she conducted brand studies for clients such as Belfius, Tiense Suiker and Tetrapak, all members of the Vlerick Brand Community, a content-driven network that Sofie helped to found. In the meantime she has taught courses in Digital Media Planning at Ehsal Management School and written (together with Theo Van Roy) the book ´A Brand New World of Marketing´.
